You're in love—with each other and the landscape.

Let's capture both.

During every elopement there is this spectacular…moment. Where despite all the big feelings, you feel small in the magnitude of the scenery. You’ll be squeezing each other's hands, soaking in the view with sheer amazement. Then you’ll look into each other’s eyes and see the whole world.

Words don't do it justice. And that's exactly what images and memories are for.

“Words really can’t describe how epic our photos are—they’re a mix between nat geo and romance. Our traditional wedding friends always ask if our pictures are photoshopped. And although we love every photo, it’s the actual experience of going there that we love most.” — Van & Charlie

Best Places to Elope in Washington State

Olympic National Park

Olympic National Park is extremely unique! There’s not many places in the world that offer beautiful mountain peaks, temperate rainforests, large lakes, hot springs, waterfalls, and rugged coastal beaches all within a few hours of each other. Olympic National Park is also an amazing option for those who want to elope in Washington during the off season. While Mount Rainier National Park and the North Cascades National Park are less accessible in winter, the Olympics still offer beautiful and accessible locations for winter and spring elopements. The Olympics have a lot of popular locations that are stunning, but it’s not very difficult to venture away from the crowds and get some solitude.

One of my favorite parts about Olympic National Park are the rainforests. Yes, there’s the Hoh Rainforest, which is stunning (& very crowded), but there’s also SO many other incredible rainforest locations that make you really feel like you are in the wild! The forests around Lake Crescent are the most accessible and are an awesome option for those wanting to visit multiple locations in one day. If you’re really into forests then I highly suggest considering the forests around Lake Quinalt and Bogachiel. The forests around Lake Quinalt have some of the biggest trees in the US and even world! The Olympics also have the largest amount of protected old growth trees in the country. It’s definitely a special experience to walk through these forests.

Many couples choose to elope in the Olympics because you can easily visit multiple sceneries in one day. It’s possible to be on a mountain top, explore the rainforest, have a picnic at a lake , and watch a sunset on the coast all in one day! It is truly a unique experience to see all three in one day. Here’s an example of a sunrise to sunset elopement that did just that!

Mt. Rainier National Park

Mt. Rainier National Park is by far the most popular national park in Washington State. Mt. Rainier or Tahoma (her original native name) is huge and majestic. There’s really no angle of Mt. Rainier/Tahoma that isn’t absolutely breathtaking. My personal favorite time to visit MRNP is in August when the wildflowers are at their peak. Mt. Rainier NP has absolutely incredible wildflowers and there’s several areas around the mountain that showcase them the best. The hikes around Paradise and the Sunrise Visitor Center are the most popular. There are also other areas like Tipsoo Lake that you should definitely consider for your elopement! MRNP has a lot of hike options varying from ADA accessible locations to week long backpacking trails like the Wonderland Trail. There’s something for everyone here! There are some really cool fire lookout towers that make for a fun elopement location too! Places like Fremont Fire Lookout and Tolmie Peak Lookout are some of my favorites. It is a very popular park so if you want more privacy definitely consider eloping at sunrise if you want one of the more popular locations (like the fire lookouts). I also have a couple more unknown trails that have become my favorites in the park, so if you aren’t interested in sunrise it’s still possible to get some epic views and privacy! Mt. Rainier has TONS of cute A-frame cabins too, so if you’re interested in staying in a cute cabin and also visiting the mountains, Mt. Rainier is your spot!

The North Cascades and Mt. Baker

The areas surrounding Mt. Baker has some of the most incredible panoramic views in Washington State. From alpine lakes, to views of Mt. Shuksan, to fire lookouts, mountain goats, rugged peaks, and so much more! The North Cascades and Mt. Baker area is one of my all time favorites for elopements. Trust me, you can’t go wrong with an elopement here, though I am a bit biased since Garrett and I also eloped in this area! While there are some incredible places to elope in North Cascades National Park, it’s a lot more regulated and harder to get permits in that area. The North Cascades above the National Park are just as beautiful if not more beautiful, more accessible, and even allow dogs! It’s an amazing place to have guests join you for your elopement because there are several very accessible areas that make for a great ceremony location and then you can venture off on your own to another location for an adventure with just the two of you. This is another favorite for my sunrise and sunset or 2 day package because you can visit two very unique areas at the best times of day—like this elopement!
