Winchester Mountain Fire lookout Elopement

Winchester Mountain Fire lookout Elopement

Geraldine and Alex hiked up to Winchester Mountain to elope with their closest friends and pup to witness! They started off the day getting ready at a beautiful house in Glacier, WA. After getting ready, we all made the 4x4 trek up to the Twin Lakes, where the trailhead for Winchester Mountain Fire Lookout is. The road itself is an adventure, as it’s a very narrow & steep 4x4 road on the side of a cliff. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart. Once we got to the top, everyone set up their tents at campsites by the Twin Lakes. Then we all made our way up to the steep hike to get to fire lookout with a brief stop to let the dogs play in the snow! Geraldine and Alex took turns getting ready in the fire lookout, which is by far the best wedding suite you can get on top of a mountain (IMO). We then made our way over to their ceremony site and celebrated afterwards with premade cocktails. This early September elopement had the most perfect weather and we weren’t even cold at the top! There was a bit of smoke, but we still had a gorgeous sunset and overall open view, so we had no complaints! After some sunset portraits, we headed back down the mountain with headlamps and then I said my goodbyes while everyone else planned to stay at the trailhead for a fun night of camping!
