Washington Sunrise and Sunset Elopement

Washington Sunrise and Sunset Elopement

An adventure From the Mountains to the COast

From the most peaceful golden sunrise, to mossy rain forests and rugged coastlines… Emily and Quint had a beautiful sunrise and sunset elopement in Washington State’s Olympic National Park! Their elopement truly showcases just how incredible the Olympics truly are.

Emily and Quint wanted to start of the day with just the two of them and then end the day by having a ceremony at the coast with their families. They met me at Hurricane Ridge just before sunrise and quickly changed into their wedding clothing for a first look! We hiked up a short trail to a beautiful overlook that would really show off the golden sunrise light. There they exchanged personal vows and soaked quiet moments as the start of their wonderful day. This particular sunrise was so beautiful to witness. The golden light came up behind Emily as they exchanged vows. The golden light next to the dark blue hues of the mountains was breathtaking!

After the sun had come up, we headed to a little meadow for a breakfast picnic. They made coffee with their jetboil and continued to take in the beautiful views. After some brief portraits, we took a break in the day. Later in the afternoon we met up for a short forest trail to explore the mossy old growth trees and get some forest portraits! I took them to one of my favorite spots—and if you’ve seen a lot of my work you probably recognize the classic log shot! It’s a gorgeous mossy forest location with lots of beautiful light!

After that it was time to head to the coast and meet up with their families for their beach ceremony! We all hiked in takeout food, donuts, and drinks for them to celebrate with afterwards as well. Quint’s Dad officiated the ceremony and everything went beautifully. We finished off the night with dinner, first dances, and some brief sunset portraits before hiking back in the dark.
