Winter Olympic National Park Elopement

Winter Olympic National Park Elopement

Winter elopements can be risky in Washington because you never know what kind of weather you’ll get. Logan and Grace got treated to a rain-free and moderately cold winter day in Olympic National Park! We truly got so lucky! Days leading up to their elopement we had winter storms that threatened to change our plans, but it all worked out in the end! The benefit to eloping in during the winter season? There tends to be way less people! Their day was filled with gorgeous snowy mountain views, serene and quiet forests, and a romantic first dance on Lake Crescent! I’ve never seen Olympic National Park so quiet and peaceful and it definitely made me a bigger fan of winter/off season elopements!

We started in the mountains at Hurricane Ridge! Olympic National Park maintains the road to Hurricane Ridge and tries to keep it open on Fridays and the Weekend during the winter. They close the road in the evenings, so we planned our day around making sure we could get up to the mountains first before they closed the road. We meandered through the snow to a couple different view points. The expansive mountain views are so beautiful and the snow and distant storms added to the beauty! Then we headed to the rain forest to find Logan and Grace’s ceremony site. We explored the trails, took portraits along the way, and then looped back to their favorite spot for their ceremony. Just before they started their ceremony some birds started singing and everything just felt to perfect! L & G exchanged vows among the ferns and Big Leaf Maple Trees.

Then we ended the day at Lake Crescent for sunset and blue hour! L & G had cake by the shore and read letters from their family. Late into blue hour they shared a dreamy first dance lit by glowing lanterns. It was a perfect winter Olympic National Park Elopement! Congrats Grace and Logan!
