Canyonlands Elopement

Canyonlands National Park Elopement

The sunset for Elizabeth and Trevor’s styled elopement was out of this world! We had a pretty stormy day with wind, rain streaks coming from the clouds and light that seemed to dramatically change every few minutes. Every time I visit this spot my breathe is just taken away. It’s hard to describe without going there yourself, but it truly is such a special place. Big sky areas like Utah are also so dramatic during storms because you can often see a storm form and come towards you from far away. Sometimes it hits you, but oftentimes it will dissipate before getting to you. Storms like this form all the time in the spring and fall in Moab. It makes it fun for elopements as well because you never know what weather you’ll see and if it is a stormy day there’s a high liklihood of the sun coming out at some point, like it did for E & T. For this evening, there were multiple isolated clouds with streaks of rain scattered across the sky as well as huge thick clouds on the horizon that eventually let the sun peak through before it dipped behind the horizon. Anyway, it’s obvious that I’m obsessed with Utah and I absolutely love sharing these spaces with my couples! We had so much fun exploring around this Canyonlands overlook with E & T.

Canyonlands National Park is an absolutely incredible place to elope for so many reasons. The vast and incredibly stunning views make for a gorgeous ceremony spot and there’s a lot to explore to get a variety of views and sceneries. Canyonlands is also relatively close to Moab and Arches National Park, meaning you could visit both National Parks in one day! You’re also close to all the resources that Moab has. You could start at sunrise in one national park, take a break in the day and have lunch in Moab and then head to Canyonlands for your sunset ceremony. There really is so many incredible options for adventure elopements in this pocket of Utah. Canyonlands National Park also has a lot of jeep roads so if you’re interested in a 4x4 adventure elopement Canyonlands is awesome! There’s also really cool trails like the White Rim Trail, which is a 100 mile dirt road that is a great option for a bikepacking adventure! One of my personal goals is to do this trail via mountain bike. It would be a great opportunity for a multi-day adventure elopement.

Meet your Canyonlands Elopement Photographer

Hi! I’m Sierra! I’m an elopement and adventure wedding photographer! Ever since my first trip to Moab, I have felt like part of my heart was stolen. Every time I went back to Moab to explore a new National Park or find a new dispersed camping area I told myself I wanted to move to there! Moab especially stole my heart! My husband and I (and our pup, Oso) spend half the year in the Southwest and Mexico in our campervan. We absolutely love escaping the PNW’s winter and chasing the sun. Utah has so much to offer for recreation, which makes it an incredible state for elopements! I’ve spent countless hours exploring around Moab to find unique and gorgeous elopement locations!

I’m not just a photographer. I help my couples plan their elopement from the ground up. I’m your sounding board for dreaming up your perfect day, I’m your logistics planner, windblown hair fixer, tie adjuster, and so much more.

I’m an adventurer through and through and I’m here to help guide you through the process of planning and executing whatever day you and your partner dream up. From the moment you book me as your photographer I am there for you to help create an experience that you will remember and cherish.

My goal and hope is that by the time your wedding day comes along we already feel like close friends. I want to get texts of the wedding attire you picked out. I want to know what you love about your partner and how you met. I’m here for it all.
